Digital Tools class final illustration based on the topic “Lincoln”, sooo here’s the Lincoln Memorial. Not sure if the setting/concept is recognizable, but oh well.I always wonder how different people and figures from the past would react to seeing the present day, so that was kinda the driving idea behind this. It was inspired by a political cartoon I found online. I was trying to challenge myself and avoid doing just a portrait even though I would’ve MUCH preferred to do one because I’m not very good at depicting this topic in my artwork (and I also had a hard time coming up with a workable concept other than just a portrait), so hopefully this was successful enough.Sorry the perspective and accuracy is awful, I tried to avoid tracing my photo reference and… well, admittedly, architecture is not my strong point in general, especially when I’m in a rush. x)

The Heisenberg in his early days, an assignment for my portraiture class.
Used graphite pencil and watercolor on bristol board. Proportions are off, sorry. I should’ve propped myself up on an easel for better posture so I could measure the photo more properly. It was also kinda last minute, soooooooo….

Gonna dump some stuff I did from the past few weeks. I’ve been so busy and haven’t had the chance :( also, I need to post this before I think of something else to change in this for the 3248th time.

Anyway, this is my second digital tools class project, which was a book cover assignment. The book I chose was a novel called Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson. It’s a dystopian fantasy book about people who use magic based on different kinds of metals that they consume, and a group of these people (called “allomancers”) band together to bring revolution to a city run by a corrupt, theocratic ruler. One of my favorite books/series. :)

A thought

I like the fact that I have solely used this site to post pictures of my lunch. I honestly don’t what else I would have to put on here.

I’ve been having issues with the gums around my wisdom tooth, so I’m laying off the chewier foods. I made a bean and jack cheese burrito with tomatillo salsa and homemade refried pinto beans. The pain area is doing a lot better. I called five different dentist but they weren’t going to be able to see me soon enough. That’s nature’s way of saying, “your on your own, kid.” BURRITO.

I swear I make more than quasi-asian dishes. This is a chicken and broccoli stir fry that I put over some white rice (that was mixed with some snap peas and red bell pepper).

Sooo, here’s that book cover I was talking about! It’s for my brother’s e-book fantasy novel that he’ll be publishing on Amazon this weekend. :) Took me about a month to finish… I forget how many hours total though x_x it was a lot.
I’ll probably post the link up once he releases it. It’s a very fun read, I highly recommend it to anyone who would enjoy reading an adventure fantasy with a twist of dialogue/character-based comedy :)
I also made a storyboard animatic for a class last semester based on these characters! My brother wrote that one too. I’ll try to post it when I get the chance.
All of this was done in Photoshop. I also used pencil and Sai for the sketch.
